>Sunday November 8, 2009 the Maysville community saw once again the pride and honor displayed to honor all veterans for veterans day, while somewhat premature of the date did not dapen the support of various organizations displaying a variety of floats to commerate the event pictured is the display provided by Task Force Omega of Kentucky, advocates of the POW/MIA efforts to locate and bring home all POW/MIAS. Chris Peffer Task Force Omega member was responsible for most of the design of the float.
First Place was awarded to Task Force Omega for their float display.
Click to Enlarge A tribute to our fallen heros was the theme for the F.O.E. Lodge # 1567 . Pictured is a member for the 299 th Chemical Company of the Kentucky Army National Guard playing taps as the display moves along second st. in downtown Maysville as part of the parade. The small American Flags displayed on the float was in honor of the eighty members of the armed forces killed in action from the state of Kentucky. As the display moved slowly down the street some saluted during the playing of taps while many shed tears remembering those brave warriors who have given of their life freely with honor and dignity in the defense of our nation but many were recalling the travisity of the Fort Hood masacare.
The embedded image is members of the 299 th Chemical Company of the kentucky Army National Guard who folowed the F.O.E. display. The majority of this unit is currently serving in Iraq for their second tour.
