Click to Enlarge In keeping with its tradition AMVETS Post 124 honored local veterans with a luncheon following the dedication ceremony. Veterans in the community along with their spouses were treated with lunch at the local National Guard Armory, also included were members of the community who attended the ceremony.
Additional highlights from the ceremony included keynote speaker Lt. Col. Tom Cordingly Commandant of the Mason County H.S. JROTC, (click the top image for additional photos) part of his speech placed emphasis on local veterans working together in support of veterans and their families and veterans organizations supporting the armed forces and the JROTC programs.
The speech delivered by Col. Cordingly touched on many topics dating back to the Revlounitary War to the current war on terrosim, he spoke of the bravery of the members of the armed forces for their stepping up and creating the all volunteer forces today.

Gabrielle Koym, who like the men and women mentioned by the keynote speaker is a volunteer in the all volunteer forces fighting the war on terrosim. Sgt Koym's presentation of the National Anthem is indictative of the divirsity of our young men and women of today's militay. Not only does she have a beautiful voice she is a veteran of the Iraq War, a true patriot and a seasoned veteran. It is worth noting that Sgt Koym traveled many miles just to participate in the ceremony. Click the bottom image for additional photos.
